Invest in your safety

In the world we live in today we are all surrounded by the elements of harm, death and injury, both physical and mental. Know your surroundings. From an extensive background knowing what worked and what still works, it is still correct saying that 80% of crimes happening today all over the world is committed by people who see the opportunity for taking something that is not theirs. What created this opportunity? Remember when you had nothing to do and you sat and thought of some plans and then suddenly a bright idea came up! yes, exactly the same method is used for all ideas, good or bad ones.

People who are in desperate need of something and with bad intentions finds an opportunity to solve their problem and it often leaves you and me on the giving end. From home contents, cars, money and even loved ones. How do you protect yourself against all the above? You can not, you just have to live in faith and hope that you will be OK, but you can do something! Faith without works is dead.

Here are some basic safe keeping tips:
1. Life insurance
2. House hold insurance
3. Car insurance
4. Screen all your employees for criminal records
5. Do a physical back ground check on:
a) area where you live
b) where you work
c) where you go to school
d) where you shop
e) the routes you drive
f) Keep your mind in shape
g) Keep your body in shape
h) Choose who you talk to and who you become friends with ( screen them as well)
i) Try to avoid habits - routine habits, like leaving home everyday the same time and driving the same route
j) Avoid giving to much information to cleaners and friends of your children - keep all valuables out of sight!

The above may seem drastic, but you never know what happened  yesterday in the persons life you trust the most. Start being risk aware, security conscious. Take off the blinkers and be vigilant. Think like a thief to catch a thief and you will quickly identify the area's that needs immediate attention. After all, these are the times we live in. Be prepared and ready for anything.

All is well.
